Weed Removal and Prevention: Prior to installing mulch, Monty and the team will thoroughly inspect all garden beds for weeds and remove them to the root. For continued control of weeds, the team applies a granular pre-emergent that will prevent weed germination as the product is dissolved by rainfall and released into the soil. Monty’s Lawn Service offers weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or a one-time round-up application and weeding services throughout the growing season to treat weeds after they have germinated and started to grow in the garden beds.

Mulching: Mulching promotes water retention and adds necessary nutrients to the soil while preventing unwelcome weeds. All of our mulch varieties are produced organically from hardwood. Hardwood mulch comes in brown or black and is dyed with an organic dye from plant-based materials. In addition to the dyed mulch, we can provide natural colored mulch with no dye. As part of the mulching services, Monty and the team will remove the old mulch to make way for the new application. New mulch is applied twice a year, fall and spring, to prepare your garden beds for plants and flowers.
